Dr. Margaret Szott
Margaret Szott is a unique kind of dentist. She believes in gentle dentistry, easing any concerns you might have by providing valuable patient education. She listens so she can best understand your particular needs. She then strives to provide the highest standard of personalized dental care using her skilled training and many advances in dental technology.
Born and raised in Greensboro, NC, Dr. Szott graduated from Grimsley Senior High School in 1988. She then went on to pursue a chemistry degree at Duke University, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1992. In 1996, Dr. Szott earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery with Distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry. From 1996 to 1998, she furthered her dental expertise through a General Practice Residency at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Dr. Szott began her private dental practice in Greensboro in October of 1998.
Dr. Szott is married to Tom, an educator at Greensboro Day School. They have two sons, Matthew and Andrew and are members of St. Pius X Church. In her free time, Dr. Szott enjoys knitting, running, riding horses and playing with her children.
Charles Sellars lives in Winston-Salem, NC. He has over 14 years of experience in the dental industry, 13 of which have been with Dr. Szott as her Office Manager. He graduated from Appalachian State University in 1992 with an MBA. He is married to Tanya, and they have three sons, Will, Connor, and Walt. He coaches his youngest son’s basketball and football teams. His other interests are sports, music and cars.
Beth Mays is from Danville, Virginia where she graduated from the dental assisting program at George Washington High School in 1988. She has been a dental assistant for 27 years and employed with Dr. Szott for 16 of those years. Beth still lives in Danville with her daughter, Hayle, and son, Shane. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, watching movies, and spending time with her children.
Barbara Leggett is a Greensboro native. She met her husband, Eddie in a karate class in 1974 where they both made black belt in Goju Ryu Karate. They have two wonderful daughters, Angi and Brendle, and one amazing granddaughter, Elizabeth. She has over 36 years of dental assisting experience and has worked with Dr. Szott for the last 9 of those years. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, fishing, boating, and water skiing. She also enjoys playing the piano, teaching a Ladies Sunday School Class, and team bowling with her husband.
Amy Scott resides in Stokesdale with her husband and two Pomeranian puppy “children.” They have two grown daughters, ages 28 and 24. She began her dental career as a dental assistant in 1984 and went back to school for dental hygiene, graduating in 2005. She is active with the Dental Hygiene program at GTCC where she is the secretary of the Chi Chi Sigma honor society. Her hobbies include traveling, camping, fishing, and reading. Her passion with dentistry is serving the elderly, medically compromised, and underprivileged children. She volunteers with several mission groups to serve this wonderful population in our city. She feels very blessed to return her knowledge and skills to those who are less fortunate as she feels this is her Christian calling.
Janet Luther is originally from Miami, Florida. She graduated from Page High School in 1991 and completed dental hygiene school in 1994. She has been a hygienist for over 21 years. Janet is married to Mike and they have six children: Ian, Sean, Luke, Nikkie, Mia Grace, and Katie. She and her family enjoy hiking, boating, fishing, rock climbing, biking, horseback riding, camping, and basically anything outdoors. Janet enjoys developing a family-type relationship with her patients and takes great pride in caring for them.
Angela Gage is a native to Julian, North Carolina. She graduated from Southeast High School in 1992. She continued her education at GTCC completing both the Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene programs in 1996. Angela is married to Greg and they have two children, Taylor Grace and Logan Solomon. She and her family enjoy many outdoor adventures, including waterskiing, snow skiing, boating, fishing, and spending time at Carolina Beach.
